Run-Time Version Management
It would be considered absurd for any organisation to attempt large-scale development without tight source control tools. Yet, many organisations have no mechanism to manage application code and logical properties once they move beyond the development servers. Applications and therefore project teams are generally organised around application versions. While middleware products provide interfaces for the deployment of applications, the process loses the context of the version and reduces the view to a collection of objects.
IES provides a comprehensive management system that maintains the “logical” representation of the application by Name and Version. This allows project teams to control multiple versions of an application, through each stage of the development process, across physical servers.
The IES RTVM provides application Run-Time version control and release management for all e-Business applications within the enterprise. It provides for deployment and administration of applications and associated servers from a single management interface. It drives a consistent approach that promotes efficiency across development and logistics personnel. IES provides effortless migration of application from one life cycle stage to another, across physical environments. IES delivers several application pre-deployment, deployment and post-deployment benefits including tools for testing, operational support, trouble shooting and development support.
The RTVM is used by;
· Project managers to maintain control over project lifecycle issues such as Version controls by stage.
· Developers to define Application Properties, Data Integrations, and Architecture extensions.
· Infrastructure personnel to deploy application versions across servers, in each stage.
